Staging Your Home in Winter

While the dreary winter weather might make selling your home seem challenging, these tips for staging your home will help you get on the right track and get you one step closer to selling your home.

Lighting is Everything

Let the light in, make sure your home looks as bright as possible to distract from the cloudiness that February can bring. This could mean opening the blinds, buying new and trendy lamps for the main rooms and pulling back your curtains.

Make sure to Clean

If your home is cluttered, it can distract buyers from the space. Make sure if you’re selling your home this season, you do a full de-cluttering and deep cleaning of each room (that includes catching those dust bunnies!) Also, make sure to take out the trash and clean the bathrooms daily.

Warm up the Space

A good trick to selling your home is to make sure it’s as cosy as possible for potential home buyers when they’re walking through. You can do things such as ‘lighting’ faux candles, have treats and refreshments set up and create cosy spaces with faux throws and fluffy pillows. This will help people visualize themselves living in the space.

Don’t forget the outside of your home!

Make sure that the outside of your home looks appealing to potential homebuyers. Don’t forget to shovel a path to the front door along with the driveway. It will help your home look easy to maintain. Adding winter greenery will also help as it will give colour to your home even if it’s a cloudy winter’s day.

Following these steps to staging your home will not only help you sell your home but will also help you feel good about the space. Staging helps potential buyers picture themselves in the space, which means you will have an easier time selling!
