Referred often as “Millionaires Row”, the area known as ‘The Bridle Path’ is the most affluent neighbourhood in Canada. With an average household income of approximately $1M, and an average dwelling value of $2.24M, this exclusive enclave of homes is located in North York, Toronto and is surrounded by the Don River Valley and lush parkland, which provide the perfect backdrop for The Bridle Path’s stately homes.
Few roads pass through the area, contributing to the area’s exclusivity and residents shop, play, and educate their children along Bayview Avenue, whose landmarks include the upscale York Mills Shopping Plaza, the posh Toronto Granite Club, and the private Crescent School for boys.
Many prominent business people, celebrities and doctors own – or have owned – homes in The Bridle Path, including Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank/Dragon’s Den), Moses Znaimer (CityTV), Conrad Black (newspaper mogul), and celebrity superstar Drake is currently having a massive mansion built in the area.
Did You Know? The street’s name is frequently misspelled as “The Bridal Path” by those who are unfamiliar with the history of the area. The actual “Bridle Path” name came about as early plans for the neighbourhood included an elaborate system of equestrian bridle paths, as most of the estate owners in the area preceding its development were horse-owners. While the paths have since been paved over, their legacy remains in the Bridle Path’s wide streets and in the name of this elite community.
Recently, I listed and sold a luxury townhome located within the Kilgour Estates community of properties in The Bridle Path. Spanning over 2,700 square feet, this multi-level townhome, connected via a private elevator with nearly 1,000 square feet of exterior space, is sophisticated, elegant and is the definition of luxury living.
